2.0 PROPOSED NETWORK SOLUTION
2.1 NETWORKING DEVICES
The main networking devices that we suggested as for the solution, is router. The reason being is, router is excellent in connecting multiple devices within a network and facilitating communication between them. Routers enable connectivity between devices within a local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) which is suitable in our cases in designing a network that can covers entirety of the UTeM complexes and faculties. Not only that, routers also provide a gateway to the internet for devices in a local network. They connect the local network to an internet service provider (ISP) and handle the routing of data packets between the local network and the internet.
2.2 TOPOLOGY
Above is the proposed topology for the networking system which is a Star Topology. Star topology is a centralized system where one centre of connection is used to manage the entire system, and in our case is the computer centre. The computer centre will be the head to supervise the networking system in UTeM. There are plenty of advantages which made us to choose this particular design, which is,
- Easy to install and manage since it provides centralized management and control.
 - If one device fails, it does not affect the rest of the network.
 - New devices can be easily added to the network.
 - Provide enhance network performance compared to bus and star topologies.
 - Provide enhanced security features since each device is connected directly to the central
 - Hub or switch, it's easier to implement security measures such as access control,
 - Authentication and encryption at the central point

2.3 COMMUNICATION MEDIA
The media that is utilised in this network will be fibre optic cable. As everyone know, fibre optic is the best option when it comes to data transmission or transferring data. This is due to its,
- Faster and higher bandwidth compared to traditional copper cables. The higher bandwidth capacity allows the faster and more efficient data transmission.
 - Fibre optics can cover a very long data transmission without significant signal degradation. This is important since UTeM campus is very large in size and a reliable medium to transfer data is really important.
 - It also immune to any interference of electromagnetic.
 - Fibre optics also has high level of scalability which means it will be ready for any evolving technology in the future ahead such as 5G for example.
 - Since fibre optic's signal quality is not easily degrade, it allows a better signal integrity to be transmitted 24/7 and improved overall network performance while also reducing maintenance requirements.
